it's fun! it's mostly the planning and prep that goes into it before hand. it's also fun to beat the game only using your starter and HM mules (i've only done blastoise).

my last starmie run in gen 1, my team was venusaur and golem. they have each other's backs the entire way up until you get to fuscia city and can catch starmie. after that, starmie pretty much takes over except for 1 or 2 battles.
