We try to act high and mighty as if we're running shit on Earth with our superior intellect, but we can't suppress our basest animal instincts and territoriality.
Plus, we're not supercomputers that can thoroughly analyze every single person we meet and judge them individually, so we tend to generalize and attempt to fit everyone into convenient little boxes and judge them wholesale as the "outgroup." Therefore, if one black person wronged us in any way, then they're all terrible.
That applies to everyone, though—except, of course, if they look like us or belong to our own "in-group," because "any critique of my in-group is a critique of me."
