It seems like shinies are easier to come by from what I've been seeing, although I suppose when you can see the pokemon and whether or not they are shiny, thats to be expected. Either way, I'm cool with it.

It's probably just the sheer number of players reporting their experience that makes shinies seems more common right now. That always happens early in a new game's release, SOMEONE is mathematically likely to find a shiny in their playthrough while 9 others never see one.
