>>49344899Anyone having high standards about Pokémon games is just delusionnal and thinks their favorite game(s) in the serie are of perfect quality when it isn't, there are always example of JRPGs being out around the same time frame with better anything than Pokémon. I don't hate Pokémon but you have to be honest with yourself, these games never were of the highest quality and never will be, and people didn't played them for that reason back then either. But now, you grew and see all the little issues the series has, but can't accept that loved game of yours is also one of them, a flawed game. And it's ok, a lot of games are flawed and still fun, but seeking perfection won't go anywhere here, Pokémon has never been that. Pokémon has always been borderline when it comes to quality.
For example, if BOTW had needed to be perfect for me to buy it, I wouldn't have. BOTW has a lot of issues, a lot. As much as people want to call it the best Zelda in the franchise, it also does things pretty badly, and it's ok, I can still enjoy it because I let go of that need for perfection. Everything everyone calls out about PLA is also accurate to call out for BOTW : empty world, repetitive fetch quests and puzzles, repetitive trials, a huge side fetch quest to lengthen the game artificially, etc... BOTW can feel empty and boring at times if you look more for these issues. The difference is, it's not Pokémon so everyone casts these issues aside saying it's not that bad and just blindly enjoy the game while people love to hate Pokémon and won't do the same for it.
Also, for some people, it's just gaming in general that's not as fun anymore but they don't see that the issue might not be the video games but themselves. They just grew older or don't find the same excitement as when they were little and could use their imagination about the secrets of the games they were playing. Now, everything is dumped on the internet, the games are dissected and there is no more "fairy tale".
