Oh shit, I had dismissed it as just random numbers, cause I really only looked at the newer Pokemon and didn't realize they were Pokedex entries. That's actually really exciting. Doesn't that confirm 102 Gen 9 Pokemon? It makes sense for the "Extinct" Pokemon to not just be at the beginning of the dex.

Isn't that just the index number? Gen 8 Pokemon are numbered 9XX, Gen 7 Pokemon are numbered 8XX. I remember this from the autistic arguments about Melmetal's generation.

It's to build up hype for Pokémon #1000. It will probably be something like Mewthree, the Original Dragon, or the first ever 4th stage evolution (for Charizard of course).

This, they would want Gen 9 to be index 900s, specially #999 and #1000 for Gen 9's marketing purposes. However, Nat Dex so far would put these PLA mons into those 900s slots, hence they moved them to 1001 onwards

No they didn't. Gen 8 are already index 900s. index numbers matched dex up until Gen 6 then they changed how they ordered them. You can clearly see that in the files when the numbers stop corresponding at Bergmite. again everyone in this thread is retarded
