The designs are shit, but is the game good or not?
The only thing I was expecting is a better game than anything in the 3d era.

? The overworld being 3D doesn't make a game 3D. You must be joking when you say it's better than Platinum and BW/BW2. It'll probably be better than SwSh and possibly XY, but I doubt it'll be better than SM either. Less than 250 Pokemon, mostly empty areas, new Pokemon are ugly, no multiplayer outside of trading, etc. There's only so much you can fit under the excuse of innocation.
