Assuming this gets ported over to the mainline games, it'll be a Fire-version of Hex with a chance to burn I think? Still really solid if you can status something (or if this has a 30% status chance, you can spam it) since it'll be a stronger Fire Blast with no accuracy issue.

Most of these ended up being nearly the same or have slight tweaks towards a different attack stat. I'd say stuff like Lilligant and Ursaluna are winners, but others like Braviary and Avalugg make me weep.

Sheer Force is better but might remove the action order speed increase that Esper Wing provides, depending on how that translates to other games. Do we know Esper Wing’s base power and all that yet? It would sadly be very on-brand for GameFreak to make a physical signature move for a new form that they gave higher Sp. Attack to. I wish they’d just swapped its old offensive stats if they had to do that, instead of making it slower just to keep its Attack mediocre.

Still an awesome design based on an incredible animal. I’ll love using it ingame, I just wish it had more going for it competitively. Sheer Force Psychic and Air Slash/Hurricane (maybe Heat Wave? A Fighting move?) at least sounds fun.

Why aren't you talking about all the other starters that are mixed attackers or have similar offensive stats?
Apart from swsh starters, the others are not as heavily minmaxed (even then they have over 60 in an offensive stat). Even incineroar still has 80 SPA.
Meanwhile, the PLA mons that are not starters have under 50 on ATK or SPA while having 100+ on the other offensive stat

These are just the ones that came to my head. For a Gen 7 starter, Primarina would've probably been a better example

Primarina has 74 ATK, which is way higher than the min-maxed pokemons in PLA
Only in SWSH they started going for over 50 stat difference between ATK-SPA, before that it was just 10-30 points difference. and the starters in PLA are alternate forms of older gens with mixed attacker stats

Only weak to fighting and ground, with nice resistances.
I expect it will have Gooey. I hope it doesn't get Weak Armor
Shell Armor or overcoat wouldn't be half bad either.

I kind of feel like that 120 Speed on Palkia is kind of pointless.
Palkia already blazes by most of the Uber tier with its 100 base Speed, but 120 Speed only lets it outspeed Unboosted Mega Rauquaza, regular Palkia, and some extremely niche Ubers you’ll rarely see.
Plus Palkia can run scarf, so unless this new form can hold a unique item, it’s kind of pointless.
