Just woke up, how’s it it going with emulators, is it still unplayable?

I see some anons saying it runs ok and others that it doesn’t work

got models working on ryujinx but still cant get passed the phone part on the beach. others are playing it normally but idk how. i think most of them took saves and got past the mountain but i dont want to do that

From many of the streams I've seen it runs buttery smooth.
I don't know how they got past the opening where it just black-screens. I'm stuck there currently. I assume there is a save file floating around for after the intro.

It works alright on my Nvidia 1660ti with multithreading turned off per the guide in the emulation thread. I'm getting 40fps or so generally, 60 in handheld mode. Battles crash it in docked mode if the particle effects are too fancy, but handheld works fine. I've heard there's a hard crash in mt coronet but I haven't gotten there yet.
If you do wanna emu, follow the instructions in the main post of the emulation fixes thread, it doesn't work otherwise. Ryujinx with the settings from the screenshot and the latest updates

just started, using yuzu. it seems to run ok (with a lot of freezes, but pausing/unpausing fixes it).

i have an i7-5820K + rtx 2060 + 16 gb ram, it doesn't do 30 fps in the overworld but around 20. vulkan seems to run models/shades better.

should i try ryujinx? never used it before but i heard the fork or nightly version is good, does it even run models?

what settings do you suggest for better performance

We're already playing at 4K and at higher framerates than the Switch. We just have to wait for a memory leak issue on both emulators that happens when you enter a cutscene.

Everyone says that ryujinx works but i've been trying to get it to work for at least 2 hours now and nothing works. During the clip where you get to talk to Arceus in the beginning it freezes.

Have you played the game on Switch? Docked mode is like 540p or some other resolution that doesn't scale well to 1080p at all.

Ryujinx seems to be working fine for me now that i'm using the build the anon posted yesterday. I also used one of the settings they posted yesterday and that seems to stop all crashing for me so far. Idk why but for some reason the game looks a lot worse on ryu compared to yuzu, I'm also unable to increase the resolution without the game screen turning black. Pretty comfy so far tho

Been playing it docked since yesterday. Looks fine, framerate is solid, no weird graphical glitches, and zero crashes.
Sure am glad I didn't spend $2200 on a computer that struggles to do what a $200 handheld does with ease.

Nah I just prefer to play on something that'll give a better experience. Something you have a problem with apparently. It's fine for handheld but once the emulators are up to speed I'm transferring my save.

AMD CPU users refer to this fix, limiting the CPU access helps with the crashing. I'm on a 5600X/3080 with 32GB RAM and my game would crash every 15 minutes, but it's been open for over an hour now with no issues.
