>>49351238It's always been based on a snail, and Sliggoo even had traces of a shell. It also desperately needed a decent secondary typing and more focused defensive stats since GF was obviously trying to make it a defensive pseudo. They managed to fix all the issues because they:
1) gave it an actual shell that thematically works
2) not just gave it a secondary typing, but the best defensive secondary typing it could have asked for
3) focused it's stats on defense a bit more
I'm not sure what you were expecting them to do, but this is one of the very few times GF didn't completely screw up a redesign from both an aesthetic and competitive standpoint
