Jasmine in DP and later Maylene and Crasher Wake in HGSS correlated in making both Gen 2 and Gen 4 take place in the same time period (which were already 3 years after the events of Kanto and Hoenn)
But then you get to ORAS and things become conflictive because XY is meant to be correlative to B2W2, and yet you have the Battle Maison and the Chatelaines be identical to how they were in XY, but also ORAS reveals the origin of Mr. Bonding from XY, so it's still a prequel?
And then in Sun and Moon you meet both adult Red and Blue at the Battle Tree, understandably older as they exist since the oldest point of the timeline. But then you have Wally completely unchanged (unless they retconned ORAS to be closer to XY than it is to FRLG)
