If Gen 9 has the same system as PLA but adds Abilities and missing moves, it’ll be a great improvement. I suspect that Gen 9 is already close to completion though so we’re gonna have to wait until like Gen 10 or something

Honestly, I'd prefer if gen 9 maintains the older mechanics for the most part and the Legends series is its own thing. I like both, and would be sad if either were permanently removed

Probably a mixture of being too fucky with the new combat and not enough dev time to work out the kinks. Like, how do you make priority abilities function correctly with the stances? Or Synchronize messing with the natures of randomly encountered Pokemon when they're already generated and wandering around? I'm sure it's doable, the are just a lot of little things you have to change.

They were probably focusing on the new battle system and making moves actually connect. This is like a proof of concept type game where Gen 9 will have shit like abilities, breeding, IVs and EVs and comp shit return

Yeah I could see them cutting it out due to lack of development time, ultimately it takes a lot of variety away from the game which kinda sucks. I guess it also makes sense why Azumarill and medicham aren’t in the game, as well as every other Pokémon that rely on their ability for validity

Same. The main series games have been garbage since I started playing rom hacks which are the same thing but way better and more engaging. PLA is really fun and refreshing.

Yeah, it's what I've wanted from a pokemon game since I was a kid. If we get a mainline game with the same battle/catching system that'd be a dream. The only negative with PLA is that I don't think it will be very replayable.

I find it a step in the right direction, the few animations I've seen make it look very natural and I give them a point.
However the game still needs a lot of polish. Graphics and monster designs are subpar. Designs like the local Goodra were very disappointing.
