You complete research tasks which are just fetch quests and grinding then you get dripfed story and a boss. Repeat 7 times.

Around 14-16 hours doing most requests and beating the story, the game is simply fetching quests over and over, and then a boss. Its not worth $60 dollars

Pokemon not having a good story is a problem. Especially now that the collecting gimmick is gimped. JRPGs shouldn't have shit writing since that's literally all there is to them other than mashing A and watching numbers go down.

BoTW still has a lot more variety and interesting environments to offer than that. Just compare Korok Seeds to the Spriritomb Spirits. Most Koroks require some small tasks or puzzles to get them, whereas all of the Spirits just sit openly around the maps and are nothing but tedium to collect.

It's 15-16 hours if you are rushing and skipping through story, so if you actually take time to do side quests and stuff probably around 25-30 hours, plus end game stuff. Pretty beefy for a pokemon game
