>>49365033>See, that's just it. You were just assuming.Yeah, it's easy to assume something when you are making a fictional series, make a rule seem like it works like X for 20+ years, then throw a curveball are people by saying that rules works like Y as a twist that breaks a lot of the lore.
Would you assume the aliens from Signs were not weak to water before the twist, when the only thing that hints at their weakness to water was the dead wife mentioning a lake house?
Of course not, since it would be retarded to assume that the aliens were weak to water when they are an advanced species that invades a planet covered in fucking water.
Same thing here. It's smarter to assume the Pokeballs shrink the Pokemon, as it's in a setting with cool tech, every time a Pokemon shrinkes is either with Minimize or when going into a Pokeball, and the anime even shows this off.
But now, every Pokemon can shrink themselves, despite minimize existing, despite such abilities not being used outside of entering Pokeballs, such abilities that otherwise would be useful but aren't used, mechanics like Dynamaxing being region specific and requiring a special energy, and thing like determining height being a pointless feature now that Pokemon can change their size freely.
This is a bad twist because it makes it so paying attention is punished, as everything previously has shown that Pokemon can only change size under certain conditions.
