With all the leaks of PLA happening, don’t forget the leakers are playing on an emulator as well as it being an unpatched version. Expect a day one patch and updates considering Monolith Soft got involved as well.

They never have. They never will. The shit version is the intended version. Nobody at gamefreak is working on this game anymore. Any patches that release will fix minor eshop bugs and correct some shitty translations last-minute. It's over. It's done. The game is shit. It was made shit, it will remain shit, and the ones who dumped it on your plate have already begun straining for the yearly November log. Give up.

To be honest, I feel bad for ILCA. They developed BDSP in a box. You can tell they were capable of something better if you watched the intro or credits. Unfortunately, BDSP had to adhere to the strict “faithfulness” that The Pokémon Company wanted. You can’t even blame GameFreak for that either as they had no involvement.

To counter your first argument, ever since Pokemon X and Y, they’ve done bug fix patches. The save bug was daunting to encounter. Going back further, even in the original Ruby and sapphire you could take your cartridge to get the berry glitch patched. I don’t know where you’re coming from saying they never ever did bugfixes. Criticizing the game is fine, but you gotta be honest with your criticisms and not pull one out of your ass.

I don't hope for a day 1 patch, a day 1 patch is the most lazy excuse a game company have to fix a game. Unless huge crashes/softlocks, games shouldn't get patches anyway, fucking up glitches we can play around with and not shipping a finished version of the game from the get go, both are retarded choices.

Game development has gotten more complicated than from the pre-PS2 days man. Patches are an industry standard nowadays since bug testing is more of a nightmare as games get bigger in size. Couple that with crunching to get the game complete and out there to keep investors happy as well. Did you not read about the hell Rockstar devs worked under when Red Dead Redemption 2 was in development? GameFreak would never adopt a work setting to crunch their dev team. That’s just how GameFreak is man.

BDSP was also a different company that's literally only acted as a supporting developer rather than a primary (and sole) developer.
BDSP was also very likely made in response to Legends not looking prepared for the Holiday '21 estimate a couple of years back, so they very quickly ran to get literal filler in the form of BDSP so they wouldn't skip a year.
