>>49369140Coming from someone who's actually played a chunk of it, I think it's gonna hover somewhere around the mid to low 70s. I've had more fun with it than any other mainline game on Switch but you can tell so many corners were cut.
The Pokemon roster's too small, it's repetitive, it's fucking hideous, and there's some jank hiding around every corner. The trade-off is that wild battles and catching mechanics are actually fun, there's more freedom to fuck around than in any other game, the soundtrack is great, and from the looks of it there's an actual postgame to speak of.
My best guess is that this game was focused solely around experimenting with different ideas with what little time they were given to shit it out with next to no regard for visuals or polish. The result is the most rough, rushed out the door game in the series and yet it's the first spark of life it's seen since it hit the Switch. I don't really know who was working on this game at Gamefreak but I think the team genuinely cared and wanted to make something special.
None of this is to say the game's actually good, this game just scratches an itch for me and it felt like they actually tried instead of just recycling the same formula but worse like they did with SWSH.
