octillery's JP name is oktank and when i found that out it seemed pretty obvious from the way his tentacles are turned up that it's meant to be reminiscent of tank treads, with his snout the cannon of a tank. i've loved that design and i think making it more explicit is just handing it to to braindead morons who need everything spoonfed to them
even knowing remoraid is based on a gun, or meant to be based on a gun, i never made the connection that that 'hump' on his back is meant to be the barrel of a revolver. the beta design makes it more explicit and obvious and maybe that's a bit necessary for the purposes of conveying the concept, but it's a shitty design. the final product is better
i think the spaceworld leaks are the most exciting thing to happen since GS themselves, but the beta pokemon designs are mostly eh and what we got in the end is almost across the board better. i'm disappointed warwolf didn't happen but que sera sera on that one
