it doesn't improve anything from the games it's remaking. ORAS had some dogshit decisions but at the very least it gave you reason to play it over the original RS with the character redesigns that for the most part blow the originals out the water. Seriously, what would I get from BDSP that I'd dearly miss if I had just decided to play Platinum instead?

I bought BDSP around half a month ago as the only switch game i own and i understand that it's unpolished as all hell and lacks content present in Platinum
But i still enjoyed playing it as my first pokémon game since SS and my first pokémon game not being played in an emulator

Nah you're good. In fact I think the problem is most of us never left the series or skipped any gens. I feel like were supposed to "grow" out of the series at some point, but didn't. I think the only way to enjoy any modern mainline Pokemon game is to not have played any of ghe games for several years, or you're a newcomer to the series outright. Honestly, I should have taken a break from the series like 6 or 7 years ago, back before Gen 7 was a thing.

Unova to Kalos mind broke me I think. How the same company can go from BW2 to X and Y is insane.

Sword I forced myself to complete to try and capture the magic, I still think it was better than Gens 6 and 7, but no match to the older gens. Arceus is ok but it more of a catching simulator.

If Gen 9 isn't at least as good as Gen 3, I'm walking away.
