I get it, you know, it's fucking dumb to defeat the Gods of Space and Time by stoning them to death, but this is less the fault of the gameplay and more the brand's newly-gained desire for an autistic degree of "clean, friendly, family-fun" combined with the inherent fact that trying to present a creature as a nigh-powerful GOD of the most fundamental aspects of realty in a monster collecting game will inevitably make it look weak as fuck when you end up catching it anyways.
If you could've actually fought it normally with your mons for a more dynamic fight (or just gone after it with a sword) it'd probably have been fine. [/spoiler:lit]iirc though the game at least confirms the idea that the Arceus you as a player get isn't actually the real Arceus, but rather an aspect of itself that it gives to you as a reward for impressing it, which is arguable also a correct way to handle something like that in this kind of game.
