The game is easy enough that the only time you'll black out is in distortions, the genie chase, or accidentally riding wyrdeer off a cliff. Boss battles and trainer battles have no penalty if you black out so the stakes are pretty low.

You can catch Eevee in the first zone and evolve it into Sylveon as soon as it learns a Fairy move, anon. It's quite honestly one of the earliest evolved Pokemon you can even get in the game.

Nope. But you're also given a ton of leeway. I've never gotten killed except for once to test fall damage, and another because I neglected to activate Braviary after falling off a cliff because I thought I'd be able to slide off.
If all of your Pokemon faint, you're given a chance to run away.

It's always the fact that I keep getting ganked from behind on the overworld by random low level shitters (because I can't be bothered to fight them...) and can't turn around, swap my balls to pokemon and aim and throw my pokemon in the right direction fast enough not to die from time to time.

Part of me hopes that the mechanic was implemented as a difficulty boosting one, kinda like losing your souls in dark souls, but it was honestly probably made just to shoehorn in an online part of the game that felt impactful

Battling doesn't knock you out anyway. Alpha Snorlax knocked my whole team out first time I found it but my trainer was still good and I was able to use revives. You only blackout if the trainer itself blacks out.

You can also have a local wireless player to pick up your satchel. It's only NSO if you want internet as means to connect.

Nigger, the first Pokemon came out 2 years before the PS2 and yet was fucking black and white and ran at a resolution of a Nokia phone. It also only had 4 direction movement and you had to unlock the ability to run - you accepted that then. This is the least shit Pokemon has ever looked compared to contemporary games.

I just tossed pokeballs at Eevee's until the outbreak ended. I got more then enough Eevee's to get all my eeveelutions and then some. Even got a shiny, which is still on my team now as a Flareon. The only strange thing is that all of the ones I caught are male.
