no, the models also look bad because of the shading/lighting
the models now have actual modelled features, like mouths, but they are often not seen properly
plus the shading just makes them look like they were dipped in water

Yeah the game is actually pretty good, but the textures and lighting in the environments are pretty shit. The environmental design is shit too. Characters and pokemon are pretty good looking but that's not hard when the backdrop is shit lol. Hopefully this was a learning experience for them or the people who hire lol

Not anon but do you guys even read or are you just here to be contrarian? Nowhere did anon said it was open world but that he wishes for Gen 9 to be "as open". This game is still multiple regions that are pretty open once in it so I don't see where you guys find the word "open world" in his post but it's not there.

Ive read before "just create a new folder and put that build in there." when someone asked what to do with a custom build before but i dont get it. Ι agree completely. Although it's a different beadt entirely, genshin impact, somehow, on my phone with bad draw distances and such looks way more appealing for the enviornment at least. It's not even a particularly interesting portion of the map to explore but this place just screams run around me all day. PLA so far has not captured me in the same capacity.

I'm sorry /vp/, but after months and months of hearing this board bitch about "muh graphics" I can't sit here and say these don't look good to me. It's not Genshin-tier but I don't think it HAS to be. Photography in this game is going to EXPLODE online and everyone is going to be posting group photos with their teams.

The graphic complaint is going to become a non-issue once everyone else gets their hands on it.

You can definitely pick out certain shots that look decent but oh my word does the presentation on the whole suck ass when in motion. The main issue for me is the pop-in and lighting, the trees don't' self shadow at all so they don't look like they fit into the environment what-so-ever, the texture quality is bad but you could easily hide that with decent lighting like BOTW does but this game has really shitty lighting and cel-shading so it just makes all of its problems really obvious. Also the repeating textures just look embarrassing from far away, especially the water. Possibly the worst looking switch game

Yeah honestly that is my biggest issue with the game so far, having individual hubs is the chance to really go crazy with environmental variety and having these wacky, out there locations but everywhere feels like a recolour of obsidian fields and its honestly super disappointing. I just keep thinking back to monster hunter and how every single area in those games tends to be completely unique and original compared to the last. I guess I can only hope future games do more with the individual locals but i really wish they'd have gotten it right first time.

Game logic is tied to the framerate you monkey. Disabling Vsync will make the game run on a higher framerate, but will also increase the speed of the game. how could you not know this? Red who you fight as a boss fight in gen 2 is literally the player character from gen 1. And the whole rocket plot from gen 2 including the Giovanni event from the HGSS remakes is literally a sequel to the rocket plot of gen1.

Multiple characters reappear and reference other events in other places. Hell gen 4 on the tv in the opening room has a news report from the red gyarados.

They've never not been connected.

There WON'T be a 60fps mod where the game plays at 1x speed if that's what you're asking. This was only possible in BDSP because that game was made in Unity and ILCA at least had the decency to not tie logic to framerate.
