>>why does it only cover ice on its head instead of its body, when doing so would give it significantly more protection and allow it to serve its supposed fishing abilities better? It uses the head as a floatation device as well, as shown in Crown Tundra. Why would it want it's entire body to float like that?
>>how is its body even able to hold up a massive ice cube nearly the same size as said body? The same way Aipom's tiny, nonexistant neck holds its massive head up and moon rays brought swage to life to make Muk and Grimer. They don't give a shit about biology making sense in irl terms, only within the universe.
>>why does the ice cube have a defined face when that would interfere with its camouflage? It doesn't use it for camoflauge, it uses it as a weapon, for defense, for temp control, and as an aforementioned flotation device. If anything the beak present helps with the "weapon" part, as it uses it as a bludgeon in its animations
>>how is it able to see, breathe, etc. with a massive cube of ice covering its head?I'm assuming it's probably just porous enough to allow those functions.
>>how is it able to protect its body from predators when it aimlessly floats in the water? That's assuming that it can't break the head and start to dive to swim faster. Hell, if you think that's farfetched, if we're going by how Ice Face works in battle, it BANKS on defending itself with the chunk of ice before speeding away, probably from a really confused Sharpedo or something who was expecting a mouthful of penguin. It's like how crab can amputate a leg and some species of Cephalopod and amputate a tentacle that'll start wriggling on it's own due to it's mass of nerve endings.
