I don't understand why those who think Goh is staying can't at least be open to the possibility of him leaving. Even I, who think Goh will leave sooner or later, would still understand if Goh will stay and understand why some have reached that conclusion. They probably think Gen 9 is coming soon, possibly due to those links maybe hinting at it. But really there's not much evidence to suggest that Gen 9 will be this year especially with PLA just being released.

Goh is more likely than not to be leaving but I don't think it will happen anytime soon, at least not within the first few months of this year. Maybe he could leave at the end of this year but my guess is no earlier than next year.

In all seriousness I just realized that Journeys will be three years old in November and yet half of the Galar Gym Leaders still have yet to make their debut (even when taking into account Piers/Marnie). We already know they'll all appear eventually, but it really has to be sooner than later.

Contrary to popular belief I don't think Goh has to catch all Pokemon on-screen or even on-series. He could still continue to follow his goal even after leaving Ash.

Where are they now with Team Rocket's various Pokemon when? Like is Lickitung still walking a path of evil with its new trainer, or is it a big eater of justice? I'd imagine [REDACTED] 0 would have reformed and evolved into [REDACTED]-Z at some point. Gyarados might be a badass boss of the seas, commanding legions of other Gyarados in pirate raids making the seas unsafe to travel, while Magikarp and Hoppip have regular lives since they were only there for an instant. Dustox and Victreebel family should be huge, but I wonder if Arbok and Weezing also developed relationship with any of the squad they adopted. Similarly, are the various Team Rocket base guys ones who hang out together, or do ones like Frillish and Yamask get assigned to grunts? Also Chimecho's last appearance was being left ill, and wasn't with Growlie when there was another house of James' family. Did Chimecho die?

The Battle Frontier was an addition only for Platinum. It was probably too late to add them to the anime given that it was a post-game thing and they probably thought Palmer was sufficient promotion, plus they didn't have the excuse of delays and other things to put in a Battle Frontier arc like AG.

This saga isn't going to end anytime soon:

1. The writers would be rushing to debut the remaining Galar pokemon when they clearly aren't. Even the Crown Tundra legendaries haven't debuted yet. Let alone the Hisui pokemon.

2. Most of the Galar Gym leaders would be getting more focus, and why we are seeing Allister and Piers soon, they have a lot more to go.

You can tell by the pacing they're not in a rush to wrap up Gen 8 anytime soon.

Not to mention that Goh is a protagonist, the only charcater close to that status was Dawn (and she was a co-protagonist rather than a real protagonist) and she appeared in 190 episodes, at the very least Goh will get that amount but I won't be surprised if he gets significantly more considering his higher status.

Man I knew /vp/ had shit tastes but this is a new low. The episode was hilarious and it was great to see Team Rocket back to their old antics like crossdressing to pull scams and going "fuck it, we don't have the budget for a high class plan or giant mech, let's just go to the trusted "net and balloon"". The entire episode was like a mix of self-aware parody and heartfelt homage at both the anime's tropes and the pokémon fanbase in general and it's the first Pokémon episode to get some genuine chuckles out of me since I can't remember.
Also you can't go wrong when you end the episode on a classic Simpsons joke.

No, it's only because of that one small scene the Misty lure appeared in the episode Dawn captured Buizel. Dawn even ask Ash/Brock, "Who is Misty?" and the explained it to her. In retrospect the writers should have never included the lure in that episode (since Ash never used it again anyway after that), since Dawn asking who Misty was went nowhere.

I remember when DP was airing for the first time people thought that was foreshadowing for Misty to eventually appear in Sinnoh. I admit I laughed when all 4 years of DP came and went and Misty didn't appear at all.

There's still no reason Misty couldn't have appeared later. May's cameo aired in 2008. Misty could have come back in 2009 for example. They could have easily removed 2-3 DP fillers to give Misty a short cameo return, her VA was still available and willing to return.

One thing I'm getting concerned about is not enough time for Ash's current team to get more wins before Master Class:

1. Gengar will obviously star in the next battle, but so far it'll have two losses (Korrina and Volkner), and only two wins.

2. Dracovish desperately needs another battle, hasn't done anything since Iris.

3. Sir'fetch'd obviously needs a major win after doing poorly in Bea.

I just hope they leave Lucario out of the next batch of battles since he was in both Volkner and Bea.

Would Ursaring get along with him? Because in 25 years of anime, I can't remember a single Ursaring that was in friendly term with Ash. Its a pokemon that always been antagonistic toward Ash.

Off course it open door for many interesting episode where Ash catch an Ursaring to save his friend but it doesn't respect him as its trainer which lead to more episode on Ash & Ursaring developing a bond.

Honestly The anime will need an Isekai arc that at least six mouth long to showcase all the new pokemon from Hisui. The anime can ignore them but it would be a bad call since the anime is produce to advertise new pokemon. The studio can cram them into one movie or two-parter but it will just disappoint people.

Honestly I don't think a long arc or saga where Ash is stuck in the past and trying to find a way back home is not that bad idea as long as he wins his rematch with Alain before the saga. Maybe OLM can handle it like Digimon Adventure anime which also started as a Isekai.

Is any of the animated films worth watching?

I was in the mood for some pokemon anime but not enough to try to catch up with the anime since I have not watched it in years.

So I picked randomly to films 19 (the steampunk one) which I kind of enjoyed and "the power of us" which honestly didn't like much.
