For what? Ultra Changes may have a few good fights, but it's still plagued by SM's slow pacing, forced tutorials, "advice" from Rotom Dex, and worse multiplayer than XY and ORAS.

Notice how B2W2 was one of the most-detailed and content-rich games in the series, and it's direct follow-up XY was literally none of that.
For them they can always lower the bar and the result will always be $$$$$ (in fact, ever since they made the games more """accessible""" by lowering the difficulty and removing content, the sales have been going up and up)

After BW1 did all the real work, making the new Region, characters, plot, engine, etc. The sequel just added more fluff to a game that was already done.

A big problem with that idea is that nowadays each Pokémon game is totally disconnected from one another. None of the new ideas are going to be carried over between games anymore. I never believed Sinnoh remakes would "save" the franchise because they would bring back all of the dropped features people were missing, ORAS brought back contests and secret bases but those were nowhere in SM, and BDSP already kinda castrate those as well, and won't even be back.

No need to, I enjoyed them a lot. Sure they're flawed but they had care put into them and that's more than what you can say for most other 3D era pokemon games. They are the definitive versions of SM. PLA is similarly flawed but still fun, unsurprisingly made by the same guy. What this tells us is that if Iwao got to actually make a pokemon game all on his own without higher ups bothering him, it would be amazing.
