>>49393515i think the thing that makes Unova so weird to me is the regions lack of identity. But it's not the same way Kalos or Galar struggle with a regional identity, both of those regions feel more like they're leaning on past ideas to carry them, Galar especially.. Unova tho, it's like they had ideas for 2 or 3 regions and smushed it all into one. It's probably the region that feels the least like it's real world basis, for better or for worse. I'd say it's the black sheep of the regions just because of how fucking bizarre of a region it is. Deserts, metropolises, winding mountains, a huge cliffside leading to a castle, dense forests, wetlands, ancient ruins, it's so packed with environments. I still love Unova tho.
