No matter how full this game is, it's missing a few of the core mechanics of the series. From the top of my head: PvP battling, breeding, abilities, double battles, TMs. AFAIK there's no online trading, but I wouldn't know, I'm emulating lol.
This game doesn't feel like a mainline entry, but I really fucking wish Gen 9 is like this game.

This game makes me feel trust issues, I'm scared to enjoy it's features because I don't want them to be ripped away from me in Gen 9, I don't know if I could go back after having free roaming during battles, full camera control, live field capture instant battling and letting my mons out to chill, if Gen 9 actually goes back to instanced transition loading screen battle and takes away all these new features, I think I may actually be done for real

I don't think the first gen 9 game will be like PLA, as development is probably too far down the line at this point. Within a few weeks, GF knows if PLA is a hit or miss, which is too late for the game coming after this. But I'm sure they will expand on PLA and implement and improve the things that worked for PLA

I don't think the PLA battle system is good for PVP at all and I don't find it amusing in single player either

No, it's a core series game. But no one knows what they will do. It's possible they take elements from it to Gen 9 like SWSH did with Let's Go's overworld encounters, portable PC and permanent EXP. Share, but everything past that is unknown. If Gen 9 borrows things from Arceus I hope it's not noble battles that shit is boring as fuck.

In the best case scenario, PLA is GF testing the waters internally within the studio. Since you mention LGPE, it was also spinoff for Gen 7 which was playing around with the overworld encounter mechanics before formally implementing them for Gen 8.
If this is correct, then probably Gen 9 might have a proper open world and all of the missing features from PLA. If so, then Gen 9 might be legendary kino.
