Stealth Rock and Spikes now does 40 base damage to the opponent and it receives damage after each of its turns, the amount of damage depends of the opponent weakness/resistance.

A lot of other moves changed, for example Giga Impact doesn´t make you lose a turn, frozen status now works like burn but lowers sp. attack instead, also for moves that raise/low your attack or defense, it also includes special attack/defense, for example calm mind and bulk up do the same thing.

For example, if you use Baby Doll Eyes, it lowers the target’s offensive stats, meaning both Attack and Special Attack, so stat buffs/debuffs are simplified now.
Also:

Other new mechanics:
- Rain now reduces the damage of Fire-type moves
- Strong sunlight now boosts the speed of Grass-type Pokemon
- Fog lowers the accuracy of all moves, except certain-hit moves
- Snow is a new weather that boosts the speed of Ice-type Pokemon, increases the chance of Frossbite, and increases the chance Drowsy Pokemon will fail to act
- Hidden Power always deals supereffective damage, 50 BP
- When Arceus holds the Legend Plate and uses Judgment, its type and Judgement's type will change to be supereffective against the target

some secondary effects seem missing, does Flame Wheel thaw Frostbite like it does frozen, does iron head still flinch?

Also, if all offensive boosting moves buff both offenses then it seems that mixed attackers are a bit more justified.
