-I like the new transition into and out of wild encounters. Seeing a wild mon you want to fight, shuffling through my mons to find the one I want to use, and then actually chucking it into battle feels so much more organic and there's a satisfying tactility to it. No loading screen, no different battle scene, it's just right where you already are. Similarly you can run away by just moving your character away.
-Different catching process. I like that you can just catch shitmons by chucking a ball at them, and you that you can catch other mons by being patient and sneaky. Being able to target specific mons by just waiting around where they spawn rather than using some abstraction like the dexnav is a massive improvement.
-New Pokedex research system. I like that it incentivizes interacting with a variety of mons in a variety of ways.
-Rank system/progression. I like that the level of mons you can control and items you can buy are now decoupled from story progression. I like that there's so much more to do in each area, even if it is mostly just filler. In the older games it's so easy to finish a route and have no reason to ever return to it
-Trade evos gone. Thank fuck
