I don't get why people are so upset about the lack of redesigns in BDSP (I get that being "faithful" to the originals is part of the issue, but even then), since that would imply the ORAS redesigns weren't Tetsuya Nomura-tier levels of overdesigned.

Courtney is one of the most popular redesigns, especially among coomers. People usually just hate the ORAS protagonist redesigns (especially May) and maybe Wallace and Tabitha.

That's a poor excuse because Masters could have picked the Platinum outfits and still have used the original designs in the remakes.
If anything, because Masters is a gacha game characters getting more alts would have been PERFECT for cross-promotion.

Emerald and Platinum outfits are simply superior so yes. That being said I understand that some anons might like the first designs/would want them for nostalgia so the most correct answer is simply to include both and give you the option to choose which one you want at the start of the game, with the one you didn't choose being in your closet from the start, to be changed into if you feel like it as soon as you unlock clothing customisation.

Short answer: Yes.
Longer answer:
For me, a Pokémon remake just needs to things,
>Redesigns (to renovate the influx of fanart)
>Bring the old game to the new standard (both graphically and Quality of Life-wise)
BDSP failed at both of them, hence my opinion of them being completely negative... also, having new content is great, but honestly, if it was just as 1:1 remake as advertised, but had SwSh graphics and redesigns, I would have bought it.

Fair. However, we don't see many fanarts of Hikari with her alternative outfits from BDSP, do we? Which I assume is due to them not being the initial outfit, decreasing their exposure.
My priorities are probably backwards, but since USUM I'm in the side of the fandom that "I'm still here mainly for the fanarts", so you can disregard my opinions.
