Recover would have been really damn good AND fair (gardevoir getting it while gallade not getting it makes 0 sense, but gardevoir has been getting special treatments ever since gen 6 so fuck that) since you could pull off a BU set so much better, or even a spdef jank set with wow + recover since he has the moves but lacks the reliable recovery.
He could however use something better than zen headbutt (inferior to waterfall and iron head), or just have zen be on par with the other 80 BP / 100 acc moves. The CC nerf is probably due to the styles mechanic so it may not be permanent, but it sucks regardless.
What Gallade really needs though is either a broken ability like magic guard (although a generally good one like Trace would both fit and be good) or an increase in speed. 80 speed fucking sucks when you have no STAB priority or shit like extremespeed to carry you and psychic / fighting is absolute doodoo defensively. It would be good offensively if physical psychics had a better move (kinda like physical electrics but at least they have a 90 BP 100 acc move, recoil be damned).
