>>49440858It's not 80%, it's 85%. Somehow an 85% hit chance failed three times, and an unboosted crit chance mon hit two crits in 3, while crits have less than a 5% chance.
So, to summarise, there's a 0.3% chance that Power Whip will miss three times in a row.
There's approximately a 0.2% chance that EQ will crit twice over three turns. I experienced both of those events in one game.
To address your other point:
Firstly, I am not Matthew
Secondly, why on earth would I be complaining about Earthquake if I was running a Gyarados? It's a flying type.
Finally, the Power Whip risk was managed. I tend to never send in risky 'mons with low accuracy moves, but in certain movesets it makes sense to have powerful options. It took the above odds coming to pass (0.3% and 0.2% respectively) for me to lose the exchange. If only one of those Power Whips had landed, it would have been a win.
I get that you're trying to flex about knowing pokétuber strats and all this shit, but you've been quite obnoxious in the way you've tried to do it, and your reply doesn't really hold true.
Thanks for the feedback either way though.
