yes there are flaws with the game, namely in the graphics, but it's a major step up from previous entries in the series
no matter what though, I can safely say that the gameplay is fun and engaging, and if a ton of other "hardcore gamers" I've talked to have shared the same sentiment, all that does is solidify that opinion
you'll probably find that this holds true for other people on this board. the game is fun, and your objective standards and criticism, no matter how valid they may be, isn't changing the fact that people enjoy the game
