He suffers a humiliating defeat to Jupiter, allowing Uxie to be captured and crushing his spirit. He goes off to get better, and the next time you see him is at the Spear Pillar where HE'S the one running late. You have the double battle against Mars and Jupiter, and the Pokémon he now uses are Munchlax and Heracross. These are the two hardest Pokémon to find on honey trees, the encounter method that requires the most patience, and Barry now has them. It's one of those great little moments of showing character through one's team, like when Silver battles you with a Crobat at the end or when Ghetsis has a Hydreigon with Frustration.
