It was alright. We'll see how it holds up on repeat playthroughs.

Sun & Moon in the honeymoon period.

The targeting is so finicky. I'd be looking directly at a Pokemon, hit the trigger, and then do a 180 to look at something behind me.
The controls suck too. Up to open the menu is retarded. and triggers to change menu pages is annoying. Also running is mapped to the left stick click for the player, but B for most of the ride Pokemon. B is crouch on foot.
Too many long cutscenes.
Rifts could have used a few more variants. They're all really samey and I already know what's going to be in each one.

Make movement controls consistent and declutter the controls. Is there really a need for a dedicated "HUD off" button?
Bring in more Pokemon from previous gens with rifts.

Agreed about the menu and controls. It's like they tried too hard to make it feel seamless/responsive and it ended up doing the opposite. I would've liked it if they made it fully customizable.

Even choosing the ride Pokemon seems wrong. Left chooses the newer one instead of right.

Personally I would've liked a selection wheel you can access when you hold down a button instead. Having to scroll through 3 individual selectors sucks.

I'd rather just have them mapped on each direction of the d-pad, and press that button again to dismount. Then put the pokedex in with the pause menu. Or put the pause menu into the map.

i imagine this may just be a result of japanese devs. they read right to left so that may be a more natural direction for them then left to right (dont quote me im speaking out of my ass, i very well may be wrong)

You are never able to use more than 4 at a time.

It's still really annoying that a mon won't even be on the screen and you'll still lock onto it.
