The MCU has its own storylines (normally) separated from the comics, cartoons and the likes, but they all share canon with nearly every other storyline in that multiverse.
Pokemon, however, never went as far as saying "literally everything we have done is canon". Pic related is as official as the anime, and guess what? It's not fucking canon, is its own continuity that exist in a vacuum that will never interact with others, let alone the canon continuity (the games).
