...So how exactly do we Ryujinx bros get those play record special bonuses without downloading those games? Can we not just create save folders or download the saves files like on Yuzu? And what about the pre-order bonuses?

You can rest without advancing time. Has never moved any rift for me.

Am i meant to be able to access the giratina cave top are with just Wyrdeer? I reached up to the wisp, by scumming the jumps, but reaching the top seems impossible. Does a ride help you with climbing? Just answer with yes or no I'm playing pretty much blind.

Yes. But given the nature of the game, just placing them in your team and walking around doing stuff and using them to break overworld items it will raise their happiness much faster compared to mainline games. Because here every fucking step adds to friendship so the animation makes it so it builds exponentially faster than otherwise. It is insane how fast friend evolution happens in this game.

Later in the game you can have multiple swarms showing up at a time. Pretty much any time you go back to town theres a chance for new ones to pop up so just go do shit and return to town and there will probably be some. What the mons are, is completely random however.

Throw them at shit in the world, talk to them, battle with them. Using them for in game looting like rocks and stuff is especially good though.

Heatran has a gimmick where he has a fire shield you need to put out with mud balls before you can battle him normally.
Cresselia has an aoe field where she inverts your controls as you walk over to her to try to initiate battle.
The genies are assholes who flit around like schizos and attack you incessantly.
Manaphy/Phionne require solving a riddle in the vein of unlocking the regis in RSE
Regigigas is just a normal fight.
Lake trio are just normal fights.

what do you mean rates? you get peat blocks from sniffing for shit with ursaluna mount. you use the peat block on an ursaring during a full moon at night to get the evo. you can scum the moon phase by sleeping until night.

Yeah you can just keep resting until night time and checking the team screen to see if it can evolve. The odds of finding the peat block seem pretty good to me, but it's all RNG.

I've found them in the cave with the machop, on top of that cave, in the little secret beach past the alpha aipom on the sea level, fucking around with the blissey in the ice place and a horde of them in the secret beach on the far east side of coronet.

They're ride Pokemon, you just summon them.
>Wyrdeer (land travel)
>Ursaluna (itemfinder)
>Basculegion (water travel)
>Sneasler (climbing)
>Braviary (gliding)
Important to note that Braviary does NOT let you freely ascend, it gives you a small boost upward when you summon it but from there it glides.

Does PLA record your team when you finish any part of the game, like the Hall of Fame in past games? Now that we can take screenshots with our whole team at any moment I can live without it, but it’s always been nice to easily look back on all the teams you “beat” the game with.

Also, does a Pokemon’s status screen still list exactly which area you caught them?

No, mountain climbing is a pain in the ass with it. Braviary trivialises most of the terrain navigation though. I think in an ideal world Wyredeer and Braviary would start out mediocre and get better as you progress

Wyrdeer does trivialize traversing. I have access to a lot of zones otherwise shouldn't. Mountain climbing with it is super simple if you have gaming experience from similar games. Finding collision spots where you can but aren't meant to land has been one of my many joys with this game.

Still, catching a budew, training it up a bit, and then 5 minutes later finding a roselia just feels awful.
So far my most interesting interaction with mons has been with Abra teleporting immediate away if it sees you... Until you find a corner of the map with tons of abra, Kadabra, and an Alakazam, at which point managing to catch that initial abra felt empty.

So far I've only been to the first and second area, but have had no trouble reaching pretty much all corners of the map... Which has been pretty disappointing finding tall plateaus with just nothing on them. No interesting items, no mildly rare pokemon, nothing.

"Best" way to trigger them is just doing something else in the map or leave the game running and go do something else while checking every now and then.

It does makes sense, but it just feels bad for me when I catch a basemon, train it up, and then find out I had no reason to. At least if the evos were in other zones, or really really rare, then it wouldn't feel so bad.
Again, it does make sense, but it makes it feel like less of a living world.
It does seem like all the areas I have been able to get to don't have anything even close to interesting in them, which is rather disappointing, but at the same time, if I can get to them, I guess it's a good thing there's nothing important.

The obstacles are generally awful because the player has no mechanics built around them, and the map is so massive and empty that walking anywhere feels like a massive slog. Getting slowed down to a crawl when I try climbing a slight incline feels awful, and not being able to climb or jump or anything like that without a ride pokemon is annoying. There isn't really anything there to trivialize, since there aren't any navigation mechanics without it.

To me Braviary's powerlevel feels like something you'd get for Rank 9 or 10. He could lose altitude faster or not give you an initial upward boost when you first use him and he'd still be the one stop shop for getting anywhere you can't fast travel. I mean, by the point you get braviary you've probably explored with the first two plenty a lot. Unless you simply rushed the game. It wasn't my case.

I also enjoy the little few bugs in the game. For example there was this time the game told me Eevee was ready to evolve but the game wasn't letting me actually evolve it. A level up fixed that. It hasn't happened again and every other friendship evolution works without level ups. There the weird quests glitch that makes it a visual mess but if you sort it the stuff fixes. It doesn't break any quest. There's also this on going thing, my goodra alpha knew a move by capture, it was the wildcard move it knows by random. The move tutor insists it can teach the move to the pokemon, even when it knows it already. Hasn't happened with anything else. Any other funny bugs you have find? Broken cherrim encounters aren't funny. But still a bug.

Need help getting bsaculegion, I've taken well over 300 HP in recoil damage overall using strong wave crashes as a guide I have says to do, but it's still not able to evolve. The npc next to the stair where you rank up in the galaxy HQ. It gets eventually pricey enough. But you will eventually get the recipe to craft star shards. If you have been saving all the parts and stardust, you will get super rich. I know I got the recipe around the time I unlocked basculegion. I was rank 8 by that point so I don't know which thing triggered it.bbut unlocking basculegion unlocks a lot of quests so must be it. The recipe itself isn't tied to any quest, just town progression.

Localization is a cancer and localizers will change random shit to "leave their mark" on a game. If you want a good example, look at Monster Hunter. It had English words from the Japanese versions localized to different words, and had Japanese names changed to "sound more Japanese" because the Japanese names weren't Japanese enough according to the localization team. And these are just changes where localizers do random shit for the sake of saying they did something; that's not even getting into localization teams that force their politics into localizations, or who completely rewrite the plot.

Pretty sure Akari is a reference to Hikari and Rei is a reference to Kouki (Kouki -> Ray -> Rei).

Kamado is the same way, his name is a reference to Rowan’s Japanese name (Nanakamado) but Kamado’s name in the original Japanese version is also different (Denboku).
So not only are they making changes for the sake of making changes those changes are also references to the Japanese names in DP which will fly right over the heads of the intended audience.

I really wish Legends Arceus got a DLC. It's sad to see we're not getting one from the looks of it. If there's one thing I am disappointed about in GF, it's that they decided to make you get Shaymin and Darkrai from BDSP. Alright, did some testing.

Found the shiny

Moving about from it to make it despawn and returning kept it shiny

The shiny sound plays once it's spawned in and you're within a certain distance. Doesn't seem to play when the shiny is off-camera
Shiny sound won't repeat until you've reloaded the Pokemon

Quitting the game and starting it up again will keep the Pokemon shiny

Sleeping until the next day and different times of day will keep the Pokemon shiny

Entering and exiting a cave will keep the Pokemon shiny as well.

It seems every Pokemon you'll encounter will have its PID generated the second you enter an area and that won't change until you leave.
This may be why shinies are so common once you have the charm, with so many Pokemon being generated at a time you're very likely to have at least one generated as a shiny.

FYI I wouldn't bother getting Weavile unless you really want one. If you're not lucky with rifts it'll take awhile to get J-Sneasel and you also need a razor claw for both him and Sneaseler. His STAB movepool blows and he's frail which is a big malus in PLA where getting revenge killed is basically guaranteed

I just found my second shiny that isn't the obligatory one. In less than 2 days. I've gotten two. It never did actually predict anything and thats why the previous games were extremely easy. Mons just had 2 or 3 attacking moves that they could use consistently. Im loving this new battle system, you actually have to be conscious of turn number and think ahead, whether it would be a good idea to go agile for an extra turn or just strong and hope for the kill

Yeah, the new battle system is fucking awful. The turn order list is basically worthless since turn order can change seemingly at random, and you can get fucked over by retarded shit like sending out someone then having them instantly killed before you can even act - you can't even use items or switch if the enemy outspeeds you like you normally would be able to, so sometimes you get stuff like an enemy KOing someone, being forced to send someone else out, then having them instantly get KO'd before you can throw a ball. It gets even worse with surprise story battles that don't let you choose who to lead with, like Iridia's Glaceon instantly Ice Beaming my Dartrix as soon as the fight starts before I have a chance to do any inputs. And most of the mechanics have been dumbed down to the point of uselessness, the changes to stat boosts/drops are practically criminal. They removed everything that made the battle system fun and removed all skill or thinking from it, the new system feels like it's purely random and all mechanics you could use to get an advantage have been nerfed into uselessness so now battling is nothing but pressing attacks, buffs, drops, statuses, etc are all completely worthless.

Action order is useless. It changes every time anything acts because different moves have different speeds and there's stuff like agile and strong style. I think it's hidden by default because the devs realized it was fucking useless and lies constantly. This is the worst implementation of a conditional turn-based battle system I have ever seen, I have no idea how they managed to fuck it up so hard.

Needing to recast them would be okay if they weren't capped at +1 and lasted longer than 3 turns. It's basic math, 4 attacks over 4 turns is 400% damage, 3 +1 attacks over 4 turns is 450% damage. 450 compared to 400 is roughly a 12% increase in total dps, which is incredibly insignificant for such a large time investment. There's a reason moves like Growl, Howl, Work Up have basically 0 use, it's because a +1 boost is already fucking worthless if you're wasting a turn on it, even when it has infinite duration.

You cant win a match with all revenge kills, meanwhile your tank might have 50% more damage taking ability, but when the opponent moves twice every turn, it effectively out damages and out tanks you because you only do half the damage you were balanced for.
Tanks in pokemon are just not tanky enough to be useful in the new system. they're so bad wild pokemon will fucking kill you.

Bad news: if you care about shiny 'value' be it sentimental or trade value, they're so common with the Charm it's not funny. Just found an Alpha Octillary.

Good news: if you enjoy collecting them, it shouldn't be hard at all to create a Cheat Engine script or something that reads every PID generated, filtering to shiny and telling you where it's spawned. If none spawn you could just leave area and repeat.

I did it easily first try. My team was around level 70

>Luxray (thunder wave)

>Lilligant (stun spore)

Paralized Giratina phase 1 with Luxray and killed it with no problem
Paralized and killied phase 2 only using Lilligant and the only attacking move was leaf blade
