>>49438048>Pokemon designs are uglyi can get that, but i don't agree. true, there are some real stinkers in this dex (and the lack of variety in the early game does NOT help this at all) but there's also plenty of high points. hydreigon, krokorok, lilligant, bisharp, scolipede, scrafty, volcarona, braviary, golurk, elgyem, litwick, haxorus, and that's just off the top of my head. i'd say overall i enjoy about 2/3 of the dex in this region
>Unnecessary handholding & blocking your pathi will admit this sucks. even as someone who enjoys black and white, it always irritates me when i can't fight a gym because "sorry! team plasma shenanigans are happening so you can't" or "skyla just decided to fuck off to the celestial tower, go there"
though i will say the only time i remember your path being explicitly blocked was with pinwheel forest
>Boring linear regionlooking at the map it can seem that way, but i disagree. most routes have plenty of hidden items, branching paths, and exits to feel satisfying. i remember how much more the game opens up after getting surf especially
>Kanto dex-rip offcomes with the territory of having an entirely new dex, can't just reuse ratatta and pidgey. that being said, i really am having a difficult time seeing this. for every "lol it's ponyta but electric" there are about 10 mons that feel completely unique, and there truly is something for everyone
>Can only use ugly shitmons in the original B&Wi like this though. it forces you to find favorites and build an original team rather than "time to use wooper again" (i am usually guilty of that so i get it). they clearly wanted to create an experience that was reminiscent of how it felt to see all those gen 1 pokemon for the first time, and i think they succeeded
>And mostly unovaborts who are too sensitive to take criticism towards their shit regioni asked for criticism specifically because i like unova, and want to see why others may not. i'm not personally offended when someone doesn't
