Legends is the only game to make use of that fact, from its dex entries down to the models and animations. Gen 7 had no excuse for not including the full National Dex and cutting mons in a Kanto remake and Gen 8 had even less excuse to continue to do so despite not making and improvements to anything else.
Legends is the first GOOD game since 2014, and I daresay it's even a great game. The only problem here is that shills will shit all over it in order to secure more of the status quo with SM/USUM/SWSH for GameFreak so that we'll never get a game like it similar to how we'll never get something as magical as Gen 5 was.
