Streamers have a massive effect on the games they play these days.
Gun broken in Cod? Steamers will bitch about it until it's fixed.
Card broken in Fifa/2k/Madden? Streamers will bitch about it until it's fixed.
Pokemon is no different, if a streamer can get a few shinies per session they're going to get more viewers for their cringe reactions, as far as I know these are the LOWEST odds have ever been, raids were 1/100 but that took more time than just spawning pokemon in, checking then leaving the area.
Shinies used to be this rarity that you'd only see once in a blue moon when a kid from school rocked up with a green Zubat or a gold Geodude, and if you were insane enough to actually hunt them it would take you 40+ hours. Shame to see them becoming a gimmick.
