just decides which of the space/time duo you will catch first. plus you get them as a travel buddy for like an hour and upcoming cutscenes will be from that clan's perspective. nothing of consequence.

the story/gameplay plays out the exact same way just with your clan winning the arguments in the cutscenes. but yes you only get one red ball, so you will have to catch the other box legendary with an ultra ball or something.

Ah, cool. Are the clan leaders the travel buds or someone else? Leaning towards Irida since I like her pearl clan outfits more and diamons seems to have spoiled a nice chunk of it's wardens for me.

no. its the same quest just different viewpoints, so not happening.

also if it matters to you, you'll get both clan outfits no matter what so again, this isn't a major decision or anything.

wait, sorry, retard here its the other way round. you catch your clan's legend normally and use the god ball for the other legend. i.e. if you pick pearl you catch palkia in an ultra ball then dialga in the red ball

You don't actually join either clan, and you're allied with both clans. You just pick one clan leader to travel with you, since they don't both want to be seen with you at the same time.
