Looks aside is there any reason to use them over the original? Like their stats are way better with Origin being faster(Palkia) or bulky(Dialga), at least Giratina had a good difference with O being stronger and the original being more tanky.

+20 Speed on Palkia might give it some large advantages it didn't have before. I don't see more special defense being particularly better than having another held item on Dialga though.

In story, no. Your choosen Legendary fires a beam while the other is transforming.

But someone noticed that Dialga diamond is on his throat, and Dialga fires Roar of Time from its mouth. Palkia fires Spacial Rend from its claws, but the new form has no arms.

Way better than Dialga. It at least feels Palkia managed to keep most of its level of detail in the form change, and having a space distorting centaur is pretty intimidating. Dialga kind of had something going with the time abomination direction, but it feels like a design that wouldn't even make it to alpha.

Groudon and Kyogre are Primal Reversions which is very similar to Mega Evolutions and introduced in the same gen as Megas, hence they get similar stat boosts. However Crowned Zacian/Zamazenta are essentially "Megas" as well with boosted stat forms tied to holding a specific item so maybe it is just favoritism

These (comparatively) ultra realistic horse legs literally stapled to Palkia's blocky body is insane. The shit stapled to this model looks like it belongs in different games.

Maybe? One of the characters speculates about why they look like that, but the speculation changes completely based on which legendary he's talking about. So it's not clear which explanation is correct, if either.

Those look fine. Honestly I haven't kept up with SWSH but I REALLY like the Ice one, even if it seems more like a late game single stage or evo than a legendary, but still really neat.

The problem with Palkia's Origin forme is that Palkia's original body is very blobby and low detail, and Palkia origin doesn't do much to change this, so it feels like the legs are a clashing artstyle to the torso.

Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza are in this weird position where they're not as iconic as Ho-Oh and Lugia, the legendaries who preceded them. Yet at the same time, they're more iconic than the Creation Trio, Tao Trio, Aura Trio, Light Trio and the Hero Duo that followed.
