Mythical status really hurts her. Few would get her and even fewer would use her since you don't have many options to use her ingame being denied the ability to participate in the PWT or subway. She, like every mythical, should be a pokemon you can catch and use as you please and not be relegated to being a trophy.

Gardevoir is appealing even when on-model. Aside from the thick lower arms and disproportionately large head and eyes, she just looks like an impossible slender human woman who walks on her toes.

Because she's a mythic. Part of the appeal of romancing a pokemon is the idea of going on your adventure with them and growing together. The "You teach me and I teach you" part. That just doesn't work if the waifumon is some one of a kind recluse that's a thousand years old and already has incredible powers.

-Mythical status prevents her from being able to be on teams easily, so no attachment for people playing the game.
-Not that strong even if you wanted to use it in PvP, so it doesn't get focus.
-While mons like Shaymin get Seed Flare and fellow gen 5 Mythical Victini gets V-Create, Meloetta is stuck with Relic Song, which is really underwhelming.
-Unlike other mons with a stronger secondary form(Shaymin), you can't swap between forms without using a said move in battle, and you are slow and slightly frail even before that.

Kirlia is a pokemon you can actually catch and use, while Meloetta is more of a trophy that GF gives out for a limited time. People tend to become attached to pokemon they can use ingame and adventure with. Its harder to do that with mythicals since you are at the mercy of GF to release the pokemon and even then they can't be used in post game facilities or even in VGC.

Had potential as a two-in-one kind of waifumon but the red-haired form's underused and could have been promoted more. Gens after 3 just brought too many legendaries and struggled to make those not featured in the cover stand out.

Think about how many times a mythical was saved because ash and co got them to Nurse Joy or Brock?
