I ultimarely agree with your stance, but that anon's implication that you have to be ok with everything the series throws at you as long as it has even the smallest bearing on anything in canon rubbed me the wrong way.
Like, for example, dynamxing is pretty retarded in my view and gamefreak themselves have even contradicted how it works in interviews and such. I accept it's canon and I accept that there is some sort of explanation for it. Doesn't mean it doesn't sound stupid.
