Back to 2D. No pixels, hand draw that shit. Color it like the old official art. Battles sprites are animated like gen 5 but since it's hand drawn, you don't get that trash tier mixel effect. Scale back all the sci-fi shit. Pokemon should be more rustic full of wilderness and rural areas. Routes should be bigger. I want people thinking they should actually use potions instead of just bitching out and walking back to the pokemon center. And the pokemon center should bring back the log cabin aesthetic from gen 1.

More side content that you can do in the main story that isn't related to gyms or the antagonists. I don't mean gimmick shit like contests or pokestar studios, I mean like actual mini-stories and side quests. Think small episodic adventures like in the early parts of the anime. Or instead of stories, maybe abandoned structures like the haunted house in Sinnoh. All optional though, but yielding rewards if you do it.
Lower stakes story. Focus on the main character's journey to conquer the pokemon league, while helping a few characters and battling a few evil doers on the way, but no calamity inducing mandatory legendary encounters on the way. Legendaries are optional again. No "tag along" characters eating up screen time.

Pixelmon but not with Minecraft graphics, and more focus on the adventure/exploration with side quests instead of a full-fledged in-your-face story; it’d also be less sandbox oriented, since it’s not supposed to be Minecraft outright either.

In short, an ecology/exploration focused game. Kind of like PLA but with better map design and the mons actually do shit in the wild. Could slip in gyms or something similar as a side activity.

Im fine with the current state of pokemon. Some of the games suck, but I don't care about that half.

I would simply do more with Pokémon home. Create some minigames, a very limited online battle simulator to get people to pay for Pokémon Home, but still have the online battles in the games more useful so people still buy them.

Also ill eradicate megas for good in a smiliar way Dragon Ball GT was. That's all.

Why would I need to change much? The franchise is alive and well, it makes the money it needs to, sells to people it needs to. Sure, I won't like it but I'm not stupid and arrogant enough to think I should cater to my and /vp/ preferences to "save" the franchise.
But, if I had to really get into the idea anyway, all it really might need is just better employees doing their job better and maybe taking more than 3 years for a main game. Zelda and Mario for example take way more time for a reason. But, with how much they sell when doing subpar quality, that would just lead to less money so it's not a good thing for them to do. And if I was somehow at the end and would reap the benefice, even knowing everyone here and knowing the real pain it is to see games that bad, I wouldn't move a finger and just get the big bucks.

The games aren't given enough budget or enough time or enough talented staff to ever be a good product. Swapping the "ideas guy/boss" won't change anything.

Lolicon pandering. Even more high tier lolis than Gen 7. And a cute little date mechanic, nothing too elaborate but it affects some dialog here and there. And the male and female protagonist aren't the same character gender swapped and know eachother. Besides that, a solid, cohesive central storyline but paced out better than Sun/Moon with plenty to do in between scenes so it doesn't feel like an infodump or like it constantly interrupts gameplay. Take some of the good mechanics changes from PLA but don't go full open world nonlinear in generational titles, perhaps have a big old safari zone around the area the story takes place to fuck off and explore at your leisure. Graphics similar to LGP/E style but better.

I would bring back Pokemon Stadium. Create a battle sim game you could take online where you can customize your own Pokemon like in Showdown, or import Pokemon from your Pokemon Home. ALL Pokemon will be available, and of course importing your own will allow you to use certain moves and stuff the game has locked for the rentals (Event Moves, certain Egg Moves, etc). You can go online and battle people, or take on the challenge cups or all gym leaders and elite four members in the new Gym Leader Castle. There are mini-games and various other activities just like in the Stadium/Stadium 2 games. And of course, when Gen 9 comes out the Pokemon from that game will be added via DLC, along with their Gym Leaders and Elite 4 members into the castle.
