it's not that good -- PLA really is basically the same as every other open world game, just with Pokemon battles in it
and the world is terribly barren
but even that is at least fairly entertaining in its own right, instead of it literally being the same game as other Pokemon games but even easier and more hand-holdy (eg, Sw/Sh, BD/SP, X/Y, S/M although S/M's issue was more hand-holding rather than being so easy that it put me to sleep like)
