>the wild areas feel way better than the base game's one since there is multiple biomes and some caves

>cool new pokemon like urshifu and the galarian legendary birds
>raids dens give a lot of replay value and are great if you like shiny hunting as you can potentially get shiny legendaries without soft resetting
>adds 200 pokemon making the game feel less incomplete
>access to new battle format restricted sparring
>can partner up with any character in the star tournament, which has unique dialogues depending on who's facing who
>overall better writing than the main game
It's a good time and what SWSH should have been like from the start

So how does it work, its like a post game DLC or what? Can I get the 200 added pokemon before postgame? Never played SWSH

I unironically can't. I'm doing a clean run right now, and genuinely wondering when the fun actually starts. I just beat Turffield and I don't think I've had a single moment of fun in the 4+ hours I've been playing. Even the areas added by the expansion pass are bland and empty like the vanilla Wild Area. When does the crushing handholding stop and the game start properly?

You get access to the DLC areas about two hours into the game. The moment you reach Motostoke, you can access them. This is well before the first 'gym' btw.
