Surely Reborn must have some merit on the gameplay side? It still manages to be popular despite nearly everyone hating the story. What does it do right?

It was fun becouse i had to play with shitmons i would've never touched if i wasn't forced to and the gym field gimmick were okay but probably done much better in other games, that said i would never play it more than once, im actually perfectly fine with all the edge, but the gay shit and drama are just terrible

Also could try Empire considering it's only about 20 hours, but is generally consistent. Also can make your childhood friend pregnant in the first chapter if you're into that.
