Honestly I am with that anon. I love the idea of snail Goodra but they dropped the ball so hard on this I actually hate it. How it sits upright while in the shell. The giant shell only on the tail when it should be more connected to the back like an actual snail shell when Goodra is out of it. The depressed look on its face just makes me think it wishes it was dead. This could have been a 10/10 redesign but they made it worse with this.

Did they change how Bulk Up and Calm Mind work?
Does Bulk Up still only affect atk/def and Calm Mind only affect spatk/spdef or did they change it and made it affect both physical and special stats?
The vague language in this the moveset explanation and how I've generally seen stat buffs in battles leads me to believe they've been homogenized and do they same thing but I'm not sure.

Use what you want, you find piplup in the top section of the coastlands by a pond.
If you get research rank 10 then shiny rates go up (see OP)

It mostly comes down to size preference, alphas just start off with better EV levels and are bigger and once you get to the second area you should have enough rocks to make any pokemon an absolute monster.

outbreak you want spawns
go to map and save
check the spawns
no shiny: TP back to camp and go back to jubilife, then back out to the map
you can save again if you want to not be annoyed by outbreak ending before you get to the area
check the outbreak spawn
no shiny: repeat previous steps, if you didn’t save at the camp before heading out, save before going back to jubilife

returning to town will reset the whole map seed every time. if an outbreak ends, you can just reload a save and be fine.
killing/catching/scaring/time pass despawning + spawning new = essentially moving the frame of the map seed your on forward, which is always set and determined by the seed your on and will cause headaches when the outbreak ends randomly and you just start at frame 1 again. Thus the teleport to town method.

Okay the new battle system is seriously fucked up
I'm fighting Kamado and my Typhlosion is handling things pretty well. Suddenly I'm getting outsped by a fucking SNORLAX and get ohko'd. Then my Garchomp which is even faster has to eat TWO attacks in a row from a fucking Golem. Seriously what's up with this? And no, I didn't use any Strong style moves.

The battle system in this game makes no fucking sense. Don't play it like a typical mainline game, just treat it as a rock paper scissors game. Accept that your pokemon ARE going to get outsped and that they ARE going to die, so just do the same to your opponent. Teach moves to your mons that give you max coverage so that they can 1 turn ko anything that they're up against

releasing pokemon is the most efficient way to get dust/grit/whatever, sometime battling mons makes them drop dust. I think the kind of dust you get depends on the lvl of the mon you release (low level ones tended to give me the basic ass one), and you get the rarer one, that higher the lvl/the pokemon is.

And yes, leveling barely raises stats, dust is where it's at. I assume it's a way to deal with exp share + allow you to explore. Lvl counts mostly in the formula to catch pokemon

at this point I think it outright cheats in favor of the opponent. The only time I've had unexpected double-turns is when I use Thunder Wave and Paralysis cuts the opponent's turn order down, which the visual doesn't account for.

I think the battle system is just in its infant state, and as a result it suffers in trainer battles. It doesn't properly allow you to predict turns (in case the opponent uses a strong/speed move) , on switch in the situation gets weird, and looking at the stats lvl is a marginal increase in your stats compared to dust/grit/stones. Plus some moves seems to be weighted differenty, and speed affects all this (faster mons like Zoroark are actually insane). Basically, it needs to be worked on and the player doesn't have a full picture on how it works.

Get a team of electric pokemon and spam attacks until its life is on the red. Even being 20 levels below is fine. If you got lucky and paralyzed it while attacking, then just throw great balls. If you managed to find an ultra ball early, then you can probably catch from mid health
