>>49495715You mean a game with 15 years of constant development, from a company that nailed stylizing early 3d graphics in 2003, with an overall budget in the *billions*, and the efforts of *thousands*?
Versus Legends: Arceus being made by a company with about 150 actual development staff members, in at most three years, from a company that had to be *dragged* into 3d, and outsourced the first round of assets for such?
Furthermore, the Pokemon have retained their typical low-detail largely-flat-color models. You are not getting a high texture detail game populated by that, and you are not getting Pokken levels of assets for just PLA's dex in a three-year dev cycle.
Game Freak does not have the staff, they do not allocate the budget, *and they do not have a free tap to the fucking merchandizing*. Shut the fuck up about "Most Profitable Franchise". That is split three ways from the royalty margin then has to pay out to shareholders.
On a raw technical level, it is quite similar to Breath of the Wild. The *use* of that technical capacity is sub-par, but it is very much using the hardware.
Seriously, in your own screenshot we can see a fucking 60 degree angle and clearly distinguish the polygons on each tree. Just because things aren't textured to the point you can count individual hairs, does not mean the graphics are *trivial*.
