It's because Lucas' hat is really awful. In his contest outfit he's not bad. BDSP helped make Lucas a lot better by freeing his hair from the hat prison.

He also had a contest outfit in the original games without his hat, but the sprite was so small and moids don't really like contests anyways, so he didn't get much art. Didn't help that the anime didn't bother to feature him either.

I don't know how old you are, or how autistic you are yourself, but it used to be a common bullying thing to accuse others of being in a relationship together in order to confuse them.

It's kind of gone out of style and the go-to insult is to just individually call the guy the simp or the girl a femsimp/pickme, depending on who seems like they'd get upset first.

It's easy to be Top 10 when there are only 10 girls, but I get what you mean.
The best thing about Lucas was that he was easy to self-insert into since his design just screamed nothing, especially in DP.

Was Mars using the line that was translated as Lovey-Dovey in the original Gen IV games and differently in BDSP? That would be really odd if it got a third version almost immediately.
