I think they should bring HM mechanics back, but instead of requiring your pokemon to learn a movie, they should just have the ability to overcome an obstacle if you have them in your party and enough badges. It's retarded that my Scyther can't cut down a tree just because it doesn't know the move "cut".

PLA to me is a collection of ideas that would all really improve the core Pokemon experience... they just forgot to actually make the core Pokemon experience.
So basically its just a tech demo of neat individual ideas and GF thought "fuck it thats good enough, ship it".
It's hard to argue that putting PLA's mechanics on top of an actual Pokemon game wouldn't result in an infinitely better game.

That's subjective. To me pokemon is simply battling, catching, and exploring. PLA fulfils that more than any other pokemon game.

No. The only reason ridemons exist is because Gamefreak doesn't want to force the player into using pokemon they don't want to get around like back in the HM days, but screw them, part of the game is the adventure, and I want to ride my own pokemon when going on said adventure.

They already have ride Pokémon from Gen 7, LGPE and Legends to work on. If every dex is like Legends with 200 mons, they can easily allocate like 5 or so mons each per movement option. PLA could have bad a rideable Basculegion, Gyarados, Empoleon, Walrein, Samurott for surf for example.

Why do people hate gyms? Growing a team and rising through the league is a much better loop than "catch as many pokemon as you can to check off a checklist"
I love the open world, new battle system, group battles, and catch mechanics, but the progression feels sterile and forced.
